 |   The sculpture represents a big lizard which in Thailand is believed to bring bad luck.
The inscription links the concepts of 'suffering' and 'reason' with superstition: the
belief that the lizard brings bad luck is based on superstition rather than reason, and
can cause anxiety and suffering. This suffering could be avoided by using common sense -
an everyday form of reason. After all, a lizard is only an ordinary creature. |
