Kids' APT Photography: Jo Beutel Kids' APT is an innovative and educational component of the Queensland Art Gallery's 'Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art 2002' that's just for kids! With some help from Kids' APT mascot, Bug Master, children can participate in a range of exciting interactive activities created by APT 2002 artists: decorate a Yayoi Kusama white room with colourful dots  be challenged by Australian artist Eugene Carchesio to make a tiny art work in a matchbox make your own Pacific lei like the ones worn by the flamboyant Pasifika Divas add your portrait to South Korean artist Suh Do-Ho's amazing wallpaper of faces write your daily diary on stone, like Chinese artist Song Dong Photograph: Matthew Kassay Free, full colour activity books are also available as part of Kids’ APT. These fun and stimulating books assist children to interpret and engage with the art works on display. Pick up a copy at the Information Desk in the Gallery foyer. Coming up during the summer school holidays, there will be a special APT Children’s Festival from 11–25 January 2003. The festival will be a celebration of art, dance and music from the Asia-Pacific region, and will present a range of fabulous creative, cultural activities — Tai Chi, kung-fu, Asian cooking, noodle making, origami, bubble sculpture and much more!
