Creation landscape – the ancient trees may have its seeds in a visit to Chartres Cathedral before the current cleaning process was begun. The aged green building with flora growing in its crevices, from the outside did not have quite the same clear-cut lines that are apparent now . . . The ancient Antarctic Beech of Springbrook are reputed to be more than two thousand years old. They are much older than Chartres but like this old cathedral they are decayed, covered with moss, but still alive.
