outlets. We believe this will extend to these
areas of the Gallery the same high quality
our visitors have come to expect.
After five years of success as a two-site
institution, we also thought it was time to
redefine who we are, what we do and how
we present ourselves locally, national and
internationally. This has involved developing
our visual identity via new branding that
encompasses our achievements and
aspirations, and this will be implemented
over 2012.
Every aspect of our achievements this year
has been assisted by the generosity of our
many sponsors, donors and partners and
we are extremely grateful for this shared
commitment to advance the Gallery’s goals.
The level of success we have achieved
this year would not have been possible
without the continued and considerable
support provided by the Queensland
Government, especially by Anna Bligh,
mp
,
Premier of Queensland and Minister for
Reconstruction; and Rachel Nolan,
mp
,
Minister for Finance, Natural Resources
and The Arts.
The Queensland Art Gallery Foundation
provides exceptional support for Collection
development and programming and we
would like to acknowledge their outstanding
achievements this year.
Our thanks also extend to our corporate
partners, supporter and sponsors who
have helped us to expand the scale, scope,
innovation and reach of our exhibitions and
programs. In particular we thank our major
supporters, Santos, Presenting Sponsor
of our annual summer exhibition and the
Children’s Art Centre; the Tim Fairfax
Family Foundation, who support various
publishing and programming initiatives; and
Xstrata Coal Queensland, which supports
both the Xstrata Coal Queensland Artists'
Gallery and the Xstrata Coal Queensland
Regional Touring Workshops. A full
schedule of the year’s exhibition program,
including our partners and sponsors,
appears on pages 110-115.
We also thank and acknowledge the
Queensland Art Gallery Board of Trustees,
the Executive Management Team, Gallery
staff, Gallery Members and volunteers.
After a difficult start to the year, it has been
remarkable to see how the community —
and the arts community in particular — has
come together and prospered in 2011. QAG |
GOMA is now regarded as one of the most
popular and innovative art galleries in our
