Major international programming
partners this year included Art
Exhibitions Australia and the Musée
d’Orsay, Paris, for the exhibition
‘Modern Woman: Daughters and
Lovers 1850–1918: Drawings from the
Musée d’Orsay’ and Art Exhibitions
Australia and the Museo Nacional del
Prado, Madrid, for ‘Portrait of Spain:
Masterpieces from the Prado’.
A number of the Gallery’s film
programs and public program
events in 2012 have benefited from
partnerships with industry leaders
— for example, ABC Radio National’s
valuable contribution to the GOMA
Talks program for both APT7 and
‘Contemporary Australia: Women’.
ABC Radio National also played an
important role in supporting projects
from Indonesia and Papua New
Guinea for APT7.
The Gallery, Australia Council for
the Arts, and Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade partnered on the
APT7 International Visitors Program
(IVP) which facilitated the travel of
a number of international curators,
directors of galleries, writers and
critics to attend the exhibition’s
opening programs and participate in
a tailored program of activities that
introduced them to arts and cultural
institutions in Brisbane.
During the year, the Gallery continued
its presentation of the Perspectives
Asia lecture program in partnership
with Griffith University’s Griffith Asia
Institute.
