‘Quilts 1700–1945’, from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London,
offered visitors an unprecedented opportunity to see over 30 quilted
and patchworked bed covers and bed hangings, as well as sewing
accessories, created over two-and-a-half centuries. Please see the

exhibition of contemporary quilts by the late leading Brisbane
quilt‑maker Ruth Stoneley (1940–2007). This exhibition was part
of the Glencore Xstrata Queensland Artists’ Gallery program,
which is detailed on page 32.
