over 64 000 children visited the children’s
art centre during surrealism for kids,
the large-scale installation presented in
conjunction with the exhibition ‘surrealism:
the poetry of dreams’.
surrealism for kids introduced young
visitors to some of the games that inspired
the surrealist artists. it included eight
creative, hands-on activities developed by
the gallery which invited visitors to capture
their own surrealist vision of the world, and
to discover how some of the most powerful
and imaginative art of the twentieth
century was created. surrealism for kids
was supported by the tim Fairfax Family
Foundation.
