cinémathèque screened some 500 shorts,
feature films and videos, which were
attended by over 25 000 visitors.
ticketed programs included the science
fiction themed a new tomorrow: Visions
of the Future in cinema; the music
documentary and film program let
there be rock; and alfred hitchcock:
a retrospective.
in conjunction with the gallery’s calendar
of major exhibitions, the cinémathèque
presented several international and
historical film programs.
other highlights included christoph
schlingensief: bad tastemeister, a survey of
films by the late german artist and director;
and Video witness: news from the world,
a documentary program exploring the use
of digital technologies as effective tools in
protecting human rights. a full program
