Membership numbers continued
to grow strongly in 2012, and during
the year reached a highpoint of 9200
members.
During 2012, a series of successful
events was offered to members in
conjunction with the launch of the
Gallery’s new dining venues. On offer
were wine-tasting masterclasses,
highlighting the GOMA Restaurant’s
seasonal menu and wine list; a
cooking class, hosted by the Gallery’s
Executive Chef, celebrating Spanish
food and culture during ‘Portrait of
Spain’; as well as two popular after-
hours tapas tasting events held in
La Sala del Prado.
QAGOMA Members also participated
in exclusive lectures and lunches,
after-hours programs and advance
viewings of major exhibitions
including ‘Modern Woman: Daughters
and Lovers 1850–1918: Drawings
from the Musée d’Orsay, Paris’,
‘Contemporary Australia: Women’,
‘Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from
the Prado’, ‘Sculpture is Everything’
and ‘The 7th Asia Pacific Triennial
of Contemporary Art’.
