Westbrook

Westbrook station was leased and managed by Henry Hughes at the time of Martens’s visit. A fine stone homestead, built on the same site in 1867, is well-preserved.

Henry Hughes, the proprietor of Westbrook, commissioned this view of his homestead and cattle. It reflects the relationship Martens had with his squatter patrons, faithfully chronicling Hughes’s achievements.
