Annual Review 2012 - page 40

Brilliant! Kept four children 3–10 years engaged. It was hard to drag
the eldest away from the ‘hands on art bit’. Best gallery I have been
to in Australia!
Visitor comment
Complementing ‘Portrait of Spain:
Masterpieces from the Prado’ was
La Sala del Prado, where visitors of
all ages were invited to experience
the vibrant nature of Spanish
history, contemporary design, food
and culture in a specially-designed
lounge environment adjacent to the
exhibition space.
La Sala del Prado featured drawing
and multimedia activities, which
related to the exhibition themes,
artists and art works on display.
Visitors were also encouraged to take
part in Spanish Still Life, a drawing
activity featuring a spectacular
display of ingredients belonging
to a typical Spanish larder. A
multimedia interactive, Prado
Portraits explored historical Spanish
portraiture and invited young visitors
to digitally transform their likeness
into an art work from the exhibition.
