‘Delicate Beauty’ is the most significant exhibition for almost two
decades of works by Sam Fullbrook (1922–2004), one of the most
important painters of the twentieth century. Fullbrook’s striking use
of high‑tone colour and borderline abstraction is showcased in over
30 paintings and a group of works on paper, with subjects including
portraiture, landscape, horseracing and coastal scenes. QAGOMA
holds a significant group of works by Sam Fullbrook and these will
be complemented by a number of important loans from public and
private collections. This is a rare opportunity to experience this
stunning body of work.
